happenings of late

i'm repeating myself again, ahaha the ever famous quote of "haven post since a long time".
its actually because i'm rather busy for the past few weeks, getting information about universities, jamming, my NSF life's kinda pretty fucked now mainly because of the shift work. Seriously i rather be back in the army staying in for 1 whole week and booking out on weekends. at least i'm guranteed a weekend.(have i talked about this before? i'm lazy to read my own blog rather hurhur). shan't talk much about army cause i'm kinda sick of my unit life now. gotta be back in camp later at 7:30am.

pretty much spent the most of my time hanging around with the guys, ivan, carson etc. gambling, billairds, slacking and relaxing over vodka at chasers which is located at clubstreet. pretty muchof a quiet place there. nice ambience, nice people and reasonable prices. its not your usual happening spot like zouk's winebar. as i said, its quiet. just 1 small group of people chilling out. they don't play lounge music that is, which i think it doesn't really hurt much as you're pretty caught up talking with your friends. we starting to frequent this place alot as seriously, there aren't much nice gigs out there except i missed the Ronski Speed gig @ Liquid Room due to the fact i was informed late and i was out already. can't expect me to "pangseh" my friend right? lol.

i'm starting to consider my future now, my prospects (pretty late huh?), as i'm seriously interested in taking a degree in audio/sound engineering. but i'm also considering the fact that i might not be able to find a job back in singapore and i can't work in australia (if i'm going there that is) simply because i'm yellow. because sound engineering is such a specialised field that there aren't much companies doing that. its a very small industry.
but then again, i'm not really interested in other courses other then that so i'm sort of in a dilemma now.

and the next bad thing, cigarette prices going up! i've already totally convert myself to smoking davidoff lights already. it sucks but hey its $1 cheaper then marlboro and its longer! then came the 2nd hit when they say they gonna ban smoking in public places. cigarette prices are already so high and now they wanna ban smoking in public places! should we have yellow boxes around the city area where people can smoke? what about the people at kopitiams? kopitiams will practically lose their business as 1 of the main source is people like us (haha), sitting down at kopitiams, prata joints slacking, smoking over a cup of teh/teh tarik. the worst part is, no smoking in clubs. when i heard this i was like "WHAT THE FUCK!?" lemme say this, if they really banned it in clubs, its gonna hit hard man. talk about night life, tourism, its all interconnected. i really think its bullshit to ban smoking in clubs. the premises belong to the club management for god's sake, not the goverment. i think its better to leave it to the clubs to decide whether they wanna do that which i doubt so. having no raves, major dance festivals in singapore is already bad enough, now they are doing this. really makes me feel sick sometimes and leaves me wondering, are we leaving our own lifes or is the goverment living our lives?
